Mayo Clinc lists Chiropractic care as
treatment option for fibromyalgia.
Chiropractic
care is based on the philosophy that
restricted movement in the spine may lead to pain
and reduced function. Spinal adjustment
(manipulation) is one form of therapy
chiropractors use to treat restricted spinal
mobility. The goal is to restore spinal movement
and, as a result, improve function and decrease
pain.

Magnesium oil used in our office is derived
from the ocean. In essence, you are getting
natural ocean water in its most condensed form. In
fact, the Magnesium Oil has absolutely no oil in
it at all. The water has been so condensed that an
oil-like viscosity is the result.
Within our Magnesium products, a multitude of
minerals and trace minerals are available for
topical use or soaking in a bath. We recommend you
pour 1 ounce or more in a tub or foot bath and
soak for 20 minutes to relieve aches, pains and
stress. You can also rub into sore muscles and
apply moist heat. If you experience burning in
sensitive areas, dilute with pure (distilled)
water.

My Road to
Wellness |
|

Recently I was in a car accident.
Shortly after the accident, I started experiencing
pain in my neck, back and shoulders. This
was significant because I'm a stylist and I stand
alot. The pain was significantly impacting my
ability to perform my work duties. Furthermore, my
treatment would be hindered by the fact that I was
extremely skeptical of treatment. On my first
visit I recognized Dr. Petry as a professional and
stand out chiropractor. The stiffness and
soreness that I dealt with, I thought was
just routine to my job. Obviously, I
have a high threshold for pain. Dr. Petry has
helped me to be more in touch with my body and to
realize that pain and nuance were not necessary
and shouldn't be a part of everyday life. As a
result, I feel better. I've started working
out and have lost weight. Also, I sleep all
night. I love Dr. Petry and her
staff. My time at Healthy Body Chiropractic
has been most beneficial and I now refer everyone
I can to this office.

| The
Risk of Non Steriodal Anti-Inflammatories
(NSAIDs) |
One
group of patients who rely on NSAIDs for pain
relief are those suffering from arthritis. In
1998, Dr. Singh of the Stanford University of
Medicine reviewed the records of 11,000 arthritis
patients at 8 participating institutions. He
extrapolated that approximately 107,000
patients are hospitalized annually for
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug
(NSAID)-related gastrointestinal (GI)
complications (internal bleeding) and at least
16,500 NSAID-related deaths occur each year among
arthritis patients alone. The figures for all
NSAID users would be overwhelming, yet the scope
of this problem is generally
under-reported.
Another article
titled "36 Percent of Acute Liver Failures Are
Linked to Acetaminophen (Tylenol)" suggests that
other organ systems are also compromised by the
use of over-the-counter pain
medications.
WJ
Lauretti's review of the literature found
that: "The best evidence indicates that cervical
manipulation for neck pain is much safer than the
use of NSAIDs, by as much as a factor of several
hundred times."
